چکیده
ABSTRACT: Methyl jasmonate (MeJA) is recognized as a plant hormone that induces several biochemical changes related to improving fruit quality, but it evident the effect of MeJA during postharvest very variable upon concentration, species, and even cultivars. The objective this research was relate application regulator at low concentration (10 µmol L-1 for 24 h) in physiology, on incidence anthracnose quality ‘Golden’ papaya storage ± 1°C. From seventh day storage, reduced by more than 50% with treatment. lesion area after infection also reduced. Although, acidity, ascorbic acid soluble solids content were not altered hormonal skin color pulp firmness showed slight retention. reduction ethylene production accompanied respiration treated fruits. MeJa increased CAT activity only whereas SOD induced both pulp. increase from third may have contributed lipid peroxidation skin, MDA cannot be explained activity. In summary, severity anthracnose, decreased respiration, peroxidation. It concluded L-1) contribute control ´Golden`papaya slows ripening

Effect of Methyl jasmonate treatment on antioxidant capacity, internal quality and postharvest life of raspberry fruit
Native population of raspberry fruits (Rubus spp) were treated with Methyl Jasmonate (MJ) fumigation and were assayed for the antioxidant capacity, total anthocyanins and postharvest quality after 7 days storage at 4?C. The result of experiment revealed that berries treated with methyl jasmonate (MJ) showed higher antioxidant capacity and total anthocyanins compared to the controled ones (non...
متن کاملMethyl jasmonate reduces chilling injury and maintains postharvest quality of mango fruit.
Exposure of mango (Mangifera indica cv. Tommy Atkins) fruit to methyl jasmonate (MJ) vapors (10(-)(4) M) for 24 h at 25 degrees C reduced chilling injury during subsequent storage for 21 days at 7 degrees C and after 5 days of shelf life at 20 degrees C. The chilling tolerance induced by MJ was positively correlated with the reduction in the percent ion leakage of mango tissue. The overall qual...

First of all, since the area of biological control is so vast, I will be restricting my talk to the area of biocontrol of postharvest fruit pathogens. Fungicides are a primary means of controlling postharvest diseases. However, as a result of public concern about the presence of synthetic chemicals in our food supply and environment, several fungicides have been banned by the U. S. Environmenta...

متن کاملMethyl jasmonate in conjunction with ethanol treatment increases antioxidant capacity, volatile compounds and postharvest life of strawberry fruit
The antioxidant capacity, total anthocyanins, total phenolics, volatile compounds, and postharvest quality of strawberry fruit were evaluated after treatment with natural antimicrobial compounds and during storage at 7.5 ◦C. Strawberries treated with methyl jasmonate (MJ) in conjunction with ethanol (MJ-ETOH) showed higher antioxidant capacity, total phenolics, and anthocyanins than those treat...
